Enter the R 12 nineT. With this sensational roadster, you set the scene with aplomb. Character: extrovert. Design: expressive. One after the other, hardly a screw was left in its place during development. With the revolutionised frame concept, this bike is eminently customisation-ready. So feel free to go the extra mile – do your own thing. The R 12 nineT invites you to make your own personal statement on the road. Celebrate #Soulfuel in your very own way.
The R 12 nineT does not follow role models. It is a style icon in its own right. Instantly recognisable from afar thanks to its authentic look with an unmistakable roadster "flyline". Up close, you recognise iconic details such as the round instruments, the chrome-plated manifold, the aluminium tank and the expressive, tubeless bicolour wheels. Hop on and make the road your stage. Your ride is accompanied by the unmistakable sound from the twin tailpipe exhaust system.
Do your own thing
Maximum design freedom, as standard. The backbone designed for customising with a classic tubular spaceframe, a flat suspension strut and a completely revised engine periphery provides the canvas for your own ideas. The modular concept is made for individualists like you. Bring your ideas to the road.
Boxer forever!
Many things have been updated, but the boxer engine stays the same – and delivers as always: Goosebumps from the get-go. Its unique punch has been thrilling fans for decades. With the three riding modes, you can choose your emotions depending on the situation and your mood. RAIN provides restrained throttle response and rapid traction control. ROAD is optimised for everyday riding and for relaxed country roads. With DYNAMIC, you utilise the full potential of the boxer engine and dial riding pleasure to the max. The dynamic engine brake control ensures maximum riding stability in every situation.
Space for your experiences
Relaxed yet dynamic on the move. This is ensured by the characteristic roadster ergonomics and equipment, such as ABS Pro and DTC. The classic tank shape and compact proportions result in an agile riding position, while the updated handlebar and footrest position contribute to the dynamic riding ergonomics. Enjoy your ride with a passenger on the partitioned bench seat. And with the optional single seater, you can ride solo in comfort.
Comfort without compromise
Got high standards? This roadster has you covered. With Keyless Ride, you can simply hop on and start riding. With the optional ConnectedRide Control, you can plug your smartphone into the mobile phone holder, pair it with your bike and easily find any route. The optional comfort package makes riding even more enjoyable, with features such as shift assistant Pro and grip heating.
Eye-catching highlights: aluminium surfaces
The high-gloss lacquered, brushed aluminium surfaces ensure a radiant appearance. They create striking contrasts and emphasise the value of the R 12 nineT. Particularly eye-catching is the aluminium tank.
Elegant-looking: black spoked wheels
It rocks. And it rolls over the tarmac on the optional black spoked wheels in a more classic and sophisticated manner if you are looking for an even more expressive staging.
Iconic drive: the boxer engine
The powerful heart of the R 12 nineT is a further stage of evolutionary of the 1,170 cc air/oil-cooled boxer engine. With a full 109 hp (80 kW) and 115 Nm, it provides an unmistakable riding experience.
Setting the tone: the rear silencer
The sound of freedom comes from the completely revised exhaust system. Cool: the chrome-plated manifold with front silencer. Clean: the dual-branch rear silencer with conical mufflers and an electropolished finish.
Casual riding with the comfort package
For the first time, the boxer has been equipped with a shift assistant. This is part of the optional comfort package. It enables smooth, fast gear changes without operating the clutch, thus increasing dynamics and riding comfort.
Modern equipment: with Digital Display
Upon request, the R 12 nineT arrives in the digital age: With the optional Digital Display, the round instruments are replaced by a 3.5" micro TFT display, which ensures clear legibility even in bright light conditions thanks to its high resolution.
Turning heads: the upside-down fork
It's not just a visual highlight for catching attention. The golden, fully adjustable 45-mm upside-down fork is also right ahead in terms of function.
Smart tech: ConnectedRide Control
With the optional ConnectedRide Control, the R 12 nineT is equipped with a smartphone holder and a Bluetooth interface for pairing your smartphone and connecting it to the BMW Motorrad Connected app.
